Privacy policy

  • No third-party content is embedded. Fonts and scripts are loaded from our own server.
  • We only process personal data in server log files and when you write to us via the contact form or by email.

Server log files

Each time this website is accessed, our web server automatically records:

  • the IP address of the device
  • date and time of access
  • the address requested and the HTTP status code
  • the amount of data transferred
  • the previously visited page (referrer), if your browser sends it
  • browser and operating system (user agent)

We need this information to operate the website securely and reliably, to analyse errors and to fend off attacks. We do not use it for other purposes or combine it with other data. Log files are deleted from the server after 30 days at the latest unless they are needed to investigate a security incident. They may remain in encrypted backups (see below) for up to six months longer.

Contact form and email

When you write to us, we process your name, email address, subject and message in order to answer your request. Form data is sent to us by email and is not stored in a database. We delete messages once the request has been dealt with, at the latest after twelve months, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.

To prevent abuse, the server keeps a non-reversible hash of your IP address for no longer than one hour in order to limit the number of messages per sender.

Tools (templates and deadline calculator)

Everything you enter in our tools – for example your name, address or the company you are writing to – is processed exclusively in your browser. This information is not transmitted to us and is not stored anywhere. Letters and calendar files are created directly on your device. Your input is deleted when you reload the page.

Appearance (light or dark)

If you change the appearance, your browser stores this choice locally (local storage). The setting is not sent to us and contains no personal data.

Hosting and disclosure abroad

The website runs on a server of Server4You GmbH (Germany) in a data centre in the European Union. The provider processes data on our behalf. According to the Federal Council, the member states of the European Union ensure an adequate level of data protection (Annex 1 of the Data Protection Ordinance).

Automatic checks

Once a month, our server retrieves public pages from Fedlex (federal legislation) and the privacy policies of the messaging services Threema, Signal, WhatsApp and Telegram to detect changes. No data about visitors to this website is transmitted. The providers only see the IP address of our server.

Backups

To prevent data loss, we create daily backups of the server. They are stored in encrypted form with Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland) in data centres in Switzerland and deleted after six months at the latest. Infomaniak has no access to the content.

Links to other websites

This website contains links, for example to Fedlex or to sources in our articles. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider when you click on such a link. Their privacy policy then applies.

We update this privacy policy when our processing changes. The version published here applies. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
